FAQ
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST VISIT?

During your first visit to Gardena Physical Therapy, we will require a photocopy of your Driver's License and insurance card, as well as your doctor's prescription for therapy. Also, there is some required paperwork, which you may download and fill out ahead of time. You will then be given a tour of our facilities and be given your initial evaluation by one of our physical therapy professionals. Next, your physical therapist will discuss their evaluation with you and devise a treatment plan while answering any remaining questions that you may have about your recovery. Some forms of available treatment at Gardena Physical Therapy include manual therapy, balance training, modalities (moist heat, cold pack, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound), biomechanical analysis & intervention. You will also be given an exercise program to be executed both in our therapy center and at home; this dual therapy model helps our patients to reach their treatment goals in a shorter period of time.
DO I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

WHAT TYPES OF HEALTH INSURANCE DO YOU ACCEPT?

Gardena Physical Therapy is a preferred healthcare provider for most major group insurance plans. Our staff will confirm the specific benefits and coverage of your particular insurance plan by the time of your first visit. We also will work with your physician and insurance in order to obtain authorization for physical therapy treatment- when such permission is required. We also accept Medicare, Tricare, Worker's Compensation, auto injury/personal injury claims and liens. We also accept some HMO's.
HOW MUCH WILL I HAVE TO PAY FOR PHYSICAL THERAPY?

Out-of-pocket expense varies from patient to patient, depending on the depth of coverage in their insurance plan. Our staff will verify your individual insurance benefits before your first visit.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Loose-fitting or athletic clothing is ideal for physical therapy sessions. This enables our physical therapy professionals to perform their examinations and assessments easily. Gowns are also available for your convenience.
HOW MANY VISITS WILL I NEED?

The number of physical therapy sessions varies greatly depending on the patient, the issue or injury, its severity and the prior level of patient function. Your physical therapist will discuss how many visits you may require during your first appointment. Patient's length of therapy varies from a few visits to a few months.
